Eddie Sommer 7 Steps

Communication Problem- students of all ages do not understand how much of a toll bullying can take on others. It can lead to depression and even suicide. Everyone has problems that no one else knows about and bullying can only make them worse while getting you nowhere.
Audience- students- focus on students around middle school level to college. Almost all know bullying is wrong and some of its effects. Targeting younger students may be more effective at stopping bullying at older ages. Many students think bullying makes them cool, show them how dangerous it can be.
Objective- inform with facts and true stories of victims who had much of their young lives ruined by bullying or even committed suicide. Make them view the situation from the victims point of view.
Strategy- show how nothing is gained from bullying. The bully does not accomplish anything by putting another person down. They may seem cool when they are younger but will have trouble interacting later on in life.
Content- a few kids are shown bullying a kid daily. The victim is shown as hurt and depressed while the bullies are proud of themselves. The victim goes home after school and begins writing a suicide note.
Medium- the message will be delivered mostly visually. The victims emotion should say it all while the words of the bullies help deliver it. Pictures or billboards would not do this type of psa justice. Visual representation is needed for full effect.

Concept- the concept is how someone’s idea of making fun, could be killing another. The suicide note could be shown just before the sound of a gun goes off or the step stool falls over.
