Donald Oliver

Donald was born in Boston on February 12, 1948, to a decorated WWII vet and a WWII nurse. He had wanted to be a teacher since he first stepped in a classroom even though he hated every teacher he ever had. Donald had no time for stupid people and their questions but was sure he'd make a great teacher. However, heavy pressure from his parents to join the military put that dream on hold. After 21 years of constant badgering, Donald was drafted in the 1969 Vietnam War draft. He enjoyed becoming a cook in the military because he wanted nothing to do with every other part of it. Most of the men loved his cooking, and the ones who didn't went hungry. He was discharged at 23 after tearing the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow while cleaning a pasta bowl.
When he returned home, Donald took the first job he could at a local bank to make money until he could begin his teaching career. Time went by and Donald saw no end in sight to his dead end job. He felt trapped until he met a woman and they were married almost immediately.  He eventually accepted his career situation but the thought of being in the front of the classroom ignoring idiotic statements made by his students never left his mind. Donald felt his stomach drop after hearing his wife Mary Ann say her friend had offered him a teaching job at a nearby high school.
Donald finally had something to smile about besides his new wife. He soon found out teaching was everything he thought it would be. The one thing he would change about the school was the staff. Donald would clear everyone out and start all over if he could, as the other employees' incompetence quickly began to wear on him. Year after year, Donald proudly displayed what the perfect Russell Academy teacher should be like. He received many awards for his excellence and has never fallen short of perfect when it comes to being a Russell educator.
Donald had once again become the chef of the house as he was tired of being served microwaved salmon by a confused Mary Ann. Back at school, Donald is always critiquing the young staff that doesn't want anything to do with him anyway.
