Character name: Bud

 

Bud is an interesting man coming from a Harvard degree, becoming a lawyer and having a bright future. Bud was also into blackjack throughout college and it became his second job. He would go to school during the week and casinos on the weekend. It became a problem and he started losing a lot of money and one day he got desperate and tried counting cards. That ended badly for him because he ended up getting the crap kicked out of him and thrown in jail. He was in county jail for 2 years. After that he became a custodian at Russell Academy back in Boston where he was born. He came from a wealthy family; he is an only child that has no more contact with his parents. Parents think he’s a loser now that he is a custodian. He is always smug no matter what time of the day it is but when Carl became an employee they became good friends. Bud knew he had a bright future in head of him to but also ended up at Russell Academy. He basically becomes Carl’s mentor/good friend. Carl will come to him for advice or they will just talk about the good looking teachers. Bud also looks like a mess, long curly hair, and dirty custodial jacket. All of the other teachers don’t give Bud the time of day because of the way he looks and his occupation when in reality he can run that entire school. Bud helps Carl a lot because Carl is the only one to give him the time of day and also knows what he is going through.
